GARD has had a significant role in EnergyPlus software testing since 1999. GARD’s role has included development of a test plan for EnergyPlus, development of software tools to aid regression testing, testing new features, development of EnergyPlus inputs for published test suites, and development of new test suite specifications. Dr. Michael J. Witte has been a voting member of ASHRAE SSPC 140 Standard Method of Test for the Evaluation of Building Energy Analysis Computer Programs since its inception.
GARD’s extensive software testing experience is applicable to a wide range of software. Specific services include:
- Test plan development
- General software testing, including regression, comparative, analytical, empirical, range, and other types of tests
- Application of standardized tests
- Development of test specifications
- Feature testing.
